Donohill Doon 1 - Rearcross 'A' 6

Rearcross travelled to Donohill for this midweek friendly and played out a 6-1 win against a depleted Donohill side, Rearcross were fast out of the traps against a side without a number of their Tournament winning players from the previous week, Eamon Devitt fired on target in the second minute, however the effort was blocked out for a corner kick. Rearcross went ahead a minute later when Liam Ryan crossed to Declan O'Toole who finished from close range. Rearcross keeper Joey Nolan gathered cleanly from a corner on six minutes. The Rearcross custodian was in the action again int the thirteenth minutes with a pin point kick released Paul Murphy down the right flank, Declan O'Toole was on the end of the cross to head home his second of the day. Michael O'Gorman back after a period in the US forced a good save out of Joe Shanahan with nineteen minutes gone. The home side were trying hard to get back in to the game and John O'Neill came close seconds later. Joey Nolan made a good foot save twelve minutes before the break. It was three nil to Rearcross and a hat-trick for Declan O'Toole with two minutes to go in the half when Greg Kennedy was the provider on the left as the Rearcross number 10 finished with aplomb from close range. It could have been four nil a minute after the restart when Paul Murphy swung in from the left, Declan O'Toole's header was clinical as the ball rattled the net, however play was called back for an offside infringement. The compliment was returned two minutes later when Declan O'Toole turned provider to Paul Murphy who struck a smashing first time effort inside the far post. There was only going to be one outcome after this, Simon Kennedy increased the tally to five with a fine effort from distance. Donohill scored a consolation goal midway through the half from the spot. Michael O'Gorman found space to shoot on target five minutes from the end, however the shot was saved. Kieran Devitt got his name on the scoresheet just before the end after getting behind the defence to keep his cool before sending a low drive whizzing to the back of the net to cap off a strong performance for the green and whites with bigger tests to come.
