Rearcross 'B' 2 - Latteragh Celtic 0

Rearcoss B hosted Latteragh Celtic in their second league game of the season last Thursday evening. Continuing from the rich vein of form that they had shown the previous Sunday, Rearcross quickly found their groove and inside the first ten minutes had good scoring opportunities from James Nolan and PJ McLoughlin. Rearcross kept up the momentum and with their midfield on top began to overrun the away side. In the 27th minute Rea finally made the breakthrough when PJ McLoughlin finished from ten yards after a patient build up. For the remainder of the half Rearcross pushed on with their dominance and were unlucky not to have a second goal with a series of chances from James Nolan, Kieran Devitt, PJ McLoughlin and James Deegan. On the resumption of the second half Rearcross  kept up the pressure and were duly rewarded when the hard working James Nolan  found space in the Latteragh half and after a good run finished to the net with a fine individual finish.  With the introduction of fresh legs Rearcross upped the ante another notch but were unable to grab their third goal. This was mainly due to the heroics of the Latteragh keeper who on the night played a blinder and prevented Rearcross from adding more goals to the score line. Overall it was a fine win for the home team who themselves had good performances from all players involved. Finally Rearcross FC would like to send get well wishes to Latteragh Celtic's Martin Hayes who underwent a knee operation following an injury sustained during the game.
