Cappamore Celtic 2 - Rearcross Youths 4

Rearcross travelled to Cappamore for a very worthwhile friendly against their near neighbours. Indeed the visitors got off to a flying start with Gary O'Brien scoring after just four minutes for this new look team. It was very even for the remainder of the half with chances wasted on both sides, Cappamore looking very menacing from corners and indeed they levelled matters right on the stroke of half time with a well placed headed from the near post. Rearcross with a lot of new faces at the club made four substitutes at half time and these changes immediately turned the game on it's head, first Darragh Kennedy finished after good work from Aidan Moloney nine minutes after the restart and the two minutes later Aiden Moloney finished after good work from Kevin Mulcahy to cap a great debut for the Newport man. Cappamore were right back in it after sixty minutes when a long ball over the top wasn't dealt with by the Rearcross defence and ended up in the back of the net much to the delight of the home crowd. Rearcross were not to be outdone tough and responded with a goal of their own after sixty five minutes when Darragh McGrath fired home from close to leave the visitors four two up and that is how it remained for the final few minutes to cap an impressive start for this new look Youths team. Thanks to Cappamore for hosting this friendly and best of luck for the season ahead.
