Rearcross Youths Selection 0 - Clodiagh Rangers Youths 3

Rearcross Youths kicked off their season with a pre season friendly with local neighbours Clodiagh Rangers, where the Drombane side would come away with a 3 nil victory. Rearcross started the game well, with a mixture of players, from last year's Youths team as well as some new arrivals. Rearcross started the game well and were unlucky to not go ahead in the tenth minute when Rearcross had good link up play on the left hand side with James Deegan receiving the ball and narrowly missing with a rasping shot just outside the box. However after this Clodiagh were well on top and had a two goal lead going into the second half after scoring in the 15th and 35th minute with two great efforts. Rearcross came out in the second half and did well with Darragh McGrath and Mike Quigley linking up and were unlucky not get a goal from the outcome.Rearcross also came close to scoring from a free kick which William Mackey was unlucky to score. Rearcross conceeded late in the final quarter to lose on a 3 nil scoreline, Rearcross had good performances from Mike Quigley, Brian Carey and Kevin Mulcahy.
Rearcross were presented with the Division Two Youths Runners up medals for the the season 2012/2013, with Brian Carey winning the Youths Player of the Year. Rearcross Youths are looking forward to the upcoming season hoping they can uptain the succces of last season and perhaps even go one step higher
