Darragh McDonnell opened the Ballymackey account on the ten minute mark. Darragh Kennedy went close for the visitors on the 20 minute mark. Rearcross rallied and pulled it back to 2-1 when after a mini gam of ping pong in the Ballymackey box with Darragh Kennedy and Kevin Connolly having shots blocked  but eventually the ball landed at Evan Gleesons feet and his strike ten minutes before the break ended up in the net. Rearcross started the second half the better of the two with Micheal Quigley going close with a shot over the bar. Despite Rearcross pilling on the pressure they failed to make this pressure count and Ballymackey increased their lead to 3-1 after Tommy Teer was on hand to tap between the posts from close range. It was game, set and match when Gearoid Murphy fired a low effort to the corner of the net from outside the box with ten minutes remaining
