Rearcross 'B' played an experienced kilcommon outfit in the opening game of the Ann Kennedy Tournament. Rearcross fielded from a largely youthful and energetic squad guided by a core of seasoned regulars including Liam Nolan, Joey Nolan, Theo English and the ever dependant Jim Caplis in goal. Advantage favoured the youthful determination of this Rearcross team that saw them emerge victorious to a 3-0 scoreline. All three goals were secured in the first half. Two of which were rewarding work from a display of robust attacking by Tommy Lyons, with Shane Lenihan proving clinical for the third. In the second half Kilcommon more than shared the exchanges of play with Seamus Butler in particular ever dangerous of pulling a goal back. But, it finished 3-0 to Rearcross, deservedly by converting the chances earned by strong first half pressure, and secured by a solid work-like attitude by the whole team in general.
