Borroway Rovers 1 - Rearcross 'A' 1

Rearcross 'A' made the journey to Borroway Rovers grounds in Thurles Town in search of all three points. It was a shaky start for the visitors as Matt Ryan was called into action to clear off the line in the early stages. Rearcross seemed to have managed to bounce back from this early scare with an effort from Evan Gleeson narrowly missing the target, followed shortly by a Mark Hogan free kick which had a similar outcome. The Rearcross custodian Sean Sheehy was then called into action and used his wealth of experience to produce a fine double save followed by another save 10 minutes later. The first half drew to a close with Liam Ryan playing in Derek O Toole, only to see his shot clear the crossbar by a narrow margin. The second half started with Borroway hitting the front in the 50th minute. Shortly after Robert Harrington produced an effort that went over the bar. Borroway came close with an effort on the 52nd minute. Not to be out done Rearcross fashioned an opening that lead to the equalising goal. Derek O Toole’s free kick was met by Robert Harrington who steered the ball to the back of the net with a fine header. Sean Sheehy was again called into action on the 70th minute and produced another fine block. Rearcross seemed to have finished the stronger side with Derek O Toole coming close on the 73rd minute and Evan Gleeson having a brace of chances in the last five minutes of the game. The 3 points on offer seemed to have eluded Rearcross on this Sunday morning.
