Nenagh AFC 'B' 4 - Rearcross 'A' 3
Rearcross met Nenagh B in this encounter. Nenagh struck first in this tie going ahead in the 15th minute but were soon pegged back by a Rearcross FC team who were determined to put up a battle. After good build up play by Rearcross FC Evan Gleeson turned inside and struck an effort to the back of the Nenagh net leaving the sides level. Rearcross could have doubled their advantage when a corner fell to Robert Harrington who had his snap shot saved off the line. Minutes later and the attention was focused on the Rearcross goal. Nenagh were awarded a penalty and converted to make the score Nenagh 2 Rearcross 1 at half time. The second half started with Nenagh looking the better side. Sean Sheehy was called into action from Rearcross and produced a few fine saves to stem the Nenagh attack. Despite the Rearcross defensive effort they found themselves 4-1 down with 15 minutes to go. Rearcross started to play some good attacking football and were pressing hard for the remainder of the game. John Ryan Lukescored his first of the afternoon with an effort from inside the box with 10 minutes left on the clock. 4 minutes later and John Ryan Luke pops up again with a header from the edge of the box. Final score on the day ends up 4-3 with Nenagh taking all three points from an unlucky Rearcross FC side.
