Rearcross 'A' 4 - Ballmackey 'A' 4
Rearcross welcomed Ballymackey to Bilboa on Sunday last for what proved to be a high scoring and entertaining game. Rearcross started the brighter and were a goal up after 5 minutes when a speculative shot from Greg Kennedy out on the wing finished in the net. It was all Rearcross now and try doubled their lead 5 minutes later when Eamonn Wade slipped Michael O Gorman through who finished coolly to the net. Ballymackey started to get a foothold in the game after this and halved the deficit with 15 minutes left in the first half. Rearcross entered half time feeling happy with their performance but disappointed with the concession of a poor goal. Ballymackey started the second half much better and were back on level terms in the 50th minute when their attacker send a thunderbolt to the top corner of the Reacross net from 25 yards out. Rearcross regrouped after this and looked to have done enough with 2 more goals with Michael O Gorman scoring on 70 minutes and Darren Quigley adding a fourth in the 73rd minute but again their old foe of conceding soft goals came back to meet them. Ballymackey made it 4 3 in the 80th minute when they factored from a header and equalised on 85 when poor defending at the back by Rearcross saw the ball fall to the feet of the Ballymackey striker who finished to the net despite the way efforts of Sean Sheehy in the Rearcross net. That is how the game finished and Rearcross will have to try and look t the positives from the game whereby they scored 4 goals and still only took away a point.
