Nenagh Celtic 'A' 3 - Rearcross 'A' 1
Rearcross A travelled to the Vocational School Grounds in Nenagh last Sunday for a Tipperary Cup fixture with Nenagh Celtic. The game started as you would expect with Nenagh bossing the game on possession stakes but unable to create any clear cut chances. Rearcross started to come into the game more and thrteatened the Nenagh goal from two corners. Nenagh did take the lead in the 25th minute when a ball was headed back across goal and headed to the back of the net by the Nenagh attacker. Rearcross regrouped after this and were defending well aswell as matching their Premier League opponents further up the field. The game remained 1 0 at half time. Rearcross came out determined in the second half but were left shell shocked when Nenagh scored twice in quick succession at the beginning of the half. Rearcross continued to battle though and pulled a goal back with 20 minutes remaining through a Michael O Gorman penalty to make it a tense finish for the Nenagh outfit. Rearcross were well on top for the last 20 minutes but couldn't find that second goal to set up a grandstand finish.
