Ballywilliam 3 - Rearcross 'B' 2

Rearcross 'B' lost out by the odd goal in five to Ballywilliam at the away venue on Sunday, the home team were fast out of the traps and rattled the Rearcross woodwork in the early stages of the game. Rearcross settled as the half wore on threatened with efforts from Gary Ryan and PJ McLoughlin while at other end the Rearcross back four were defending well. The visitors kept the pressure on as Gary Ryan headed down to Leo who shot narrowly over while at the other end Jim Caplis made a smart save. PJ McLoughlin was having a fine outing for the green & whites and wasn't far away with a fine effort. Ballywilliam edged ahead with a headed effort with finished in the bottom corner, Rearcross didn't give up and Tommy Lyons fired over from distance. The Slieve Felim side were dealt a succour blow with the concession of a penalty which was duly converted eleven minutes from time, but Rearcross didn't give up and brought it back to the minimum with a well struck shot from Leo Ryan and then PJ McLoughlin was unlucky not to level matters with a fine effort which was just wide of the upright, Rearcross will now prepare for an Ann Kennedy Tournament clash against Donohill on Tuesday evening.
