Rearcross 'A' 6 - Roscrea United 0
Rearcross welcomed Roscrea Utd to Rearcross on Sunday last for a league clash. Rearcross started the better and were passing the ball very well. Liam Ryan struck the crossbar with a rattling shot after ten minutes and this was to prove to be an early warning for Roscrea as Rearcross set about bombarding the away team for the next 90 minutes. Rearcross struck the front on 20 minutes when some slick passing in midfield saw Liam Ryan play Michael O Gorman through and the striker made no mistake by finishing over the out rushing keeper. Rearcross were two to the good on 35 minutes when Patrick Deegan capitalised on a mix up between the defender and the goalie and coolly slotted the ball home. It was 2 0 at half time but things were to get even better for Rearcross in the second half. It was 3 0 to Rearcross in the 50th minute when Michael O Gorman grabbed his second of the day when his shot from outside the box proved too hot for the keeper. Rearcross quickly made it 4 and then 5 in quick succession with Liam Ryan getting on the scoresheet and O Gorman rounding off his hat trick. Mike O Gorman then finished off the scoring when he struck a beautiful shit from all of 35 yards to leave the keeper in the Roscrea goal with no chance. It was an all round good performance from Rearcross with everyone putting in a good shift. An exciting season is predicted for this young side with a few elder statesmen thrown in.
