Lough Derg 'B' 0 - Rearcross 'B' 2

The Rearcross F.C. B team travelled to Killaloe to play Lough Derg B last Sunday morning in their second match of the league. The first half was a fairly even affair with Lough Derg having the best chance of the half coming midway through when they hit the woodwork. Rearcross started the second half very brightly and were playing some good football. They were rewarded for their good work just after the hour mark when Liam Nolan scored a cracking goal after making a great run down the left. His sublime finish with his trusted left foot was similar to that of the great Lionel Messi. Rearcross continued their good play and on the 80th minute, Rearcross were rewarded a penalty after Liam Nolan was dragged to the ground. Diarmuid Sheedy stepped up to take the penalty and he slotted it neatly away in the bottom corner. Lough Derg tried hard to breach the Rearcross defence for the remaining 10 minutes but Rearcross dug deep and withstood the pressure. Theo English pulled off two vital saves in the final 10 minutes to ensure Rearcross came away with their first victory of the year on a score line of 2-0.
