Rearcross 'A' 5 - Arra Rovers 1
Rearcross welcomed Arra rovers to Rearcross for a league encounter on Sunday last. After dropping their firsy points of the season in last week's draw with Holycross, Rearcross were looking to get their league campaign back on track and that is exactly what they did. Rearcross came out all guns blazing and were 2 0 to the good following a Michael O Gorman strike and a great run and finish effort from James Deegan. Rearcross made it 3 0 before half time when Michael O Gorman grabbed his second of the day. Things were much the same in the second half as the first with Rearcross continuing to boss things around the field. It was 4 0 to Rea in the 60th minute when O Gorman rounded off his hat trick with a splendid finish from just inside the box. The game was over as a contest at this stage and Michael O Gorman rounded off the scoring for the Rea bhoys when he finished to the net from close range. Arra got a consolation goal in the 92nd minute but it was too littlke too late as Rearcross ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 5 goals to 1. A great response from Rearcross after last week's disappointing draw and a result which keeps them top of the table with 2 games in hand.
