Rearcross 'B' 2 - Ballywilliam 5
Rearcross played host to Ballywilliam B last Saturday and Rearcross started strongly with Gary Ryan and Darren Quigley coming close with shots on goal. Ballywilliam got a foothold in the game and they had a shot off the post and a free kick which Joey Nolan pulled off a great save. Liam Nolan then had a shot from range but Rearcross finally got a reward for their hard work when a Sean Kennedy pass to Michael O Gorman lead to Michael getting Rearcross 's first goal of the game. Ballywilliam replied immediately and had a shot which hit the side netting. Dylan Ryan had a shot on goal for Rearcross but this was deflected over the bar. Rearcross increased their lead before half time and it was Michael O Gorman again who found the net after receiving a Kieran Devitt pass. In the first 15 minutes of the second half Ballywilliam blitzed Rearcross and were 3-2 up on the 60th minute. MIchael O Gorman had a few shots on goal but it was Ballywilliam who extended their lead on the 65th minute to make it 4- 2. Sean Kennedy was very unlucky not to score from a header from a Liam Nolan free and Liam Nolan then had a shot himself but this went over the bar. On the 82nd minute Ballywilliam made it 5-2 but Rearcross refused to give up . Matthew Ryan hit the post with a header and Kieran Devitt had a shot across the goal line and Michael O Gorman hit the cross bar in the final moments. The scoreline finished up 5-2 in favour of the visitors.
