Rearcross 'A' 0 - Nenagh Celtic 'B' 0
Rearcross welcomed Nenagh Celtic B last Sunday morning for what they knew would be a tight and close affair. It was Nenagh that started the brightest and came somewhat close with a couple of half chances in the 15th and 20th minute but nothing to trouble Jim Caplis in the Rearcross goal.Rearcross started to get more and more into the game as the first half wore on and came close through a Greg Kennedy shot on 30 minutes. Both sides seemed to be cagey with them knowing that a point wouldnt be the worst result but losing would put a serious dent in their league title ambitions. The first halffizzled out without either side creating a clear cut opportunity. Rearcross came out the hungrier in the second half but were finding the Nenagh rearguard hard to break down. Eamonn Wade came close in the 65th minute when he headed over from a Tommy Lyons delivery. The best and final chance of the game fell to in form striker Michael O Gorman who found himself 1 on one with the keeper but failed to convert with the Celtic keeper getting down well to save. 0 0 was how the game finished with both sides happy not to have lost a crucial game.
