Rearcross 'B' 0 - Gurtagarry 3
Rearcross played host to Gurtagarry on Friday evening last and the visitors immediately took the lead in the 1st minute after poor defending from the Rearcross players. Gurtagarry continued to apply pressure on Rearcross but the home side gradually got themselves into the game and from mid through the 1st half to the the end of the half, Rearcross dominated this game. Rearcross were forcing corners and creating attacks and were unlucky not to score on numerous occasions with Martin and P.J. McLoughlin coming exceptionally close to Rearcross getting themselves on the scoresheet. However it was Gurtagarry who came the closest to getting a second goal of the game on the stroke of half time but Martin McLoughlin made a goal saving clearance. Rearcross opened the 2nd half brightly and Diarmuid Sheedy was unlucky with his attempt on goal but soon after Gurtagarry extended their lead with a well worked goal but Rearcross did not give up. Gary Ryan came within inches of getting onto the end of a cross by his brother Leo which would have most definitely found the net. With 15 minutes to go, Gurtagarry finished this game off with their 3rd and final goal. Late on Sean Kennedy was very unfortunate not to score from a header, so the score line finished up 3-0 to the visitors.
