Roscrea United 'B' 3 - Rearcross 'A'1
Rearcross were on their travels last Sunday as they made the trek to the Killavilla grounds in roscrea to take on Roscrea United. Rea who had beaten the Roscrea outfit 6 0 in the reverse fixture knew they would get nothing easy in Roscrea and were also hindered by the fact that they only had 12 players to choose from. Indeed it was the home side who started the better and were 1 0 to the good after a Roscrea attacker was up ended in the box and the penalty was dispatched past Jim Caplis in the rea goals. Things were back on a parity come the 25th minute when Michael O Gorman grabbed his 12th of the campaign. The rest of the half saw limited chances and the sides entered half time at 1 goal apiece. Roscrea started the second half like they did the first and were 2 1 to the good in the 50th minute when their full back was allowed travel the length of the field before receiving a pass outside the box and finishing splendidly to the net. Rea pushed to get back into the game but really faced an uphill battle when second half substitute Sean Sheehy was shown a straight red for an over the top challenge. Rearcross kept pushing but to little avail and it was game, set, match Roscrea as they made 3 1 in the 90th minute and send Rearcross to their 4th defeat of the season.
