Clodiagh Rangers 1 - Rearcross 'B' 0
Rearcross B team travelled to Drombane hoping to over come Clodagh in this local challenge.Rearcross got off to a bright start with D.Sheehy setting up G.Ryan but his effort was blocked.It was to and fro from then on with Clodagh winning a free but T.English saved in the Rearcross goal.D.Quigley had a long range effort drift wide for the visitors.Clodagh Rangers had the ballin the Rearcross net but their effort was ruled offside.Good play from Rearcross’s J.Quinn and D.Quigley set up M.Hogan who’s effort was saved.Clodagh also had their chances with one effort going wide and L.Ryan defending well to thwart another Clodagh attack.M.Hogan struck a free for the visitors just over with G.Ryan and Pj McLoughlin also getting shots on target.Clodagh also putting pressure on the Rearcross defenc.e but good defending from M.Ryan and S.Hickey kept them scoreless.Clodagh got in the early attack at the start of the second half but still failed to score.The Rearcross were dealt o blow when M.Hogan and J.Quinn had to withdraw from the game with injury within 10 minutes of each other leaving the Rearcoss side with only 10 players to finnish the game.The Rea boys fought on with G.Ryan getting a great chance but the keeper managed to get a leg to it and saved a certain goal.Despite the great effort from the Rearcross side and good individual displays from D.Sheehy,M.Ryan and S.Hickey they were eventually undone with Clodagh scoring with 3 minutes to go.The game finished 1 nil to Clodagh leaving the Rearcross outfit very disappointed.
