Nenagh AFC 'C' 2 - Rearcross U-12's 2
Rearcross U 12’s travelled to Brickfields on this bitterly cold but dry Saturday morning. Rearcross went in at half time leading 1 – nil after Cillian Kennedy playing as a lone striker dribbled past two defenders before blasting to the net giving the home keeper no chance. However the visiting team could easily have had a bigger lead at half time as firstly Cillian Kennedy saw his tenth minute effort come off the post and then the hard working Andy Kinnane saw his shot come off the same post after being put through by Brian Nolan. Nenagh’s best chance of the first half was blocked by the ever fearless Eimear Carey.
Rearcross started the second half brightly and after five minutes, a delightful move involving Andy Kinnane, Brian Nolan and Cillian Kennedy resulted in Cillian hitting the side netting. Nenagh were back level five minutes later with a well taken goal and then the home team began to dominate and were rewarded for their efforts 5 minutes later when a well struck free kick on the edge of the penalty box was blocked on the goal line by Brian Nolan but fell kindly to a Nenagh player who made no mistake from close range. However the visitors to their credit battled on with every player giving it their all and were rewarded with a share of the spoils when Cilllian Kennedy found Brian Nolan in front of goal who evaded two Nenagh defenders before slotting it in the corner of the net.
