Rearcross U-15's 4 - Murroe AFC 4
The Under 15’s got their season under way with an entertaining four all draw with Murroe AFC, Thursday night. The first half was a cagey affair with very little between either sides. The chances were few and far between. Murroe were struck first to give the Limerick side an early advantage. Rearcross fought back, with Stephen Rochford racing onto a through ball and finishing expertly into the bottom corner. Both sides went into the break with scores level. But the scoring wasn’t over Murroe started the brighter scoring two in quick succession to take a two goal advantage. However the rea boys showed great heart and steal to regain the initiative. Man of the match Paul Nolan was first to strike, a well deserved goal which rounded off a top performance from the Barnadomeeny man. Patrick Dawson followed with two quick fire goals to fire Rearcross in front, to cap a fine performance from the young man. Murroe were not finished yet and pilled on the pressure in the last few minutes and had it not been for excellent goalkeeping from Cathal Kennedy the game could have been finished. Murroe were eventually rewarded with a well taken goal. Rearcross will be disappointed not to have held onto their led; however a draw was a more than fair result. Rearcross would like to wish both teams and managements all the best for the coming season. Scorers for Murroe were Jack O'Carroll x 2, Jay Ryan and James Collopy.
