Kilcommon/Rearcross FC U-12' 2 - Nenagh AFC 'B' 1
Kilcommon / Rearcross made it two out of two in the League when they overcame the travelling Nenagh side on Thursday evening. The game started promising for Kilcommon / Rearcross when Aileen Rochford forced a great save from the Nenagh goalkeeper who managed to push it over the crossbar after only 6 minutes. The home side pushed on and enjoyed most of the possession throughout the field. The deadlock was broken in the 15th minute when Darragh Carr picked up the ball in the Nenagh half and managed to break through the Nenagh defence and coolly slotting to the net. The Nenagh side tried hard to get a foothold in the game for the remainder of the half but the the Kilcommon / Rearcross defence held steady. Joseph Dawson was unlucky not to extend the lead for the home side in the 28th minute but a great save from the Nenagh goalkeeper kept the difference to a minimum.
The second half started well for the home side but chances were not converted. The 10th minute of the half saw the sides level when Nenagh's Tom Gleeson won possession from a Kilcommon / Rearcross kick out and managed to bear down on goal finishing to the net. Kilcommon / Rearcross fought hard for the remainder of the game to re-gain the advantage. With 2 minutes remaining in the game a Tristan Deegan corner found Aaron Lenihan whose first attempt was blocked but when the rebound came back to Aaron he made no mistake in finding the net and sealing the victory for the home side.
