Borrisokane 2 - Kilcommon/Rearcross FC U-12' 0
Kilcommon / Rearcross made the journey to the Borrisokane venue on Thursday evening seeking to extend their good start to the 2016 / 2017 season. It was evident from the start that this was going to be a tough encounter with the Borrisokane side stamping their authority on the game right from the beginning. Kilcommon / Rearcross found it difficult to get any great momentum in the game despite their defence being well organised and cutting out any threat that the Borrisokane side posed. The home side continued to dominate throughout the first half however they failed to hit the target on a number of occasions. The half time whistle saw both sides still deadlocked. Borrisokane continued to push forward in the second half but were still unable to break the deadlock thanks to the visitors solid defence and safe goalkeeping. Kilcommon / Rearcross did their best to mount their own challenges but it was the home side who took the advantage in the 18th minute of the half when a corner was deflected to the net for an own goal. A second goal came 4 minutes later to seal the victory for a well organised Borrisokane side. Kilcommon / Rearcross never gave up but chances were few and far between which resulted in Borrisokane taking the honours no the night.
