Rearcross U-10's 0 - Nenagh 'A' 3
Rearcross U-10's suffered a three defeat by high flying Nenagh
Town 'A' in a league game played in Bilboa last Saturday morning, the score
line detracts from the performance turned in a Rearcross squad that was unlucky
not to take something from this game. The first half was well contested with
both sides creating chances, however it was Nenagh who enjoyed a one nil advantage
at the half way mark after Brian McGee found the net in the 9th minute with
a well taken goal. Rearcross were on top from the start of the second half
and were robbed of an equaliser in the seventh minute when a move on the left
involving Tommy Kennedy and Marc Murphy released Shane Lenihan whose shot
from the edge of the box rebounded of the crossbar. Nenagh counter attacked
and went two nil ahead seconds later when Anthony Collins finished from close
range. Rearcross tried in vain to get back in to the game, however Anthony
Collins sealed the victory for Nenagh two minutes from time with a well stuck
shot from in front of goal.
