Killavilla 3 - Rearcross U-12's 2

Rearcross U12's travelled to Killavilla last Saturday morning for an U-12 league fixture and were on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline. This game was slow to take off and really only got a bit of life when Killavilla scored their first goal when the ball was deflected to the net. This goal had a wakening effect on Rearcross, who began to attack in waves and were back in the game after 20 minutes following a superb long-range goal from Michael O'Gorman. Killavilla scored their second five minutes before half time following a goalmouth scramble. On the stroke of half time Jim Caplis pulled off a wonderful save to keep the deficit at a minimum. Jim Caplis was again brought into the action and was equal to the task in the 2nd minute of the second half with a fine save. Rearcross pushed forward in numbers and were unlucky not to score with James Gough and Cormac Nolan coming close. With eight minutes to go Rearcross got caught on the counter attack and Killavilla shot in to a 3-1 lead. Rearcross, however, continued to battle and three minutes later were back in the game following a superb finish from Danny O Brien. Rearcross continued to push for an equaliser but were unable to break down the Killavilla defence despite coming close in the dying moments of the game.
