Rearcross U-16's 2 - Templemore 3

Rearcross U-16's were at home to Templemore last Saturday in the league and ended up on the wrong end a of 3-2 scoreline. The visitors went ahead after fifteen minutes when Eoin Ryan scored a with a well taken goal, Rearcross fought back well and were rewarded for their efforts in the 30th minute when Enda Clifford lobbed the keeper from twenty five yards. A skilful Templemore team dealt the home side a severe blow just before half time when James Quinn scored from the penalty spot. Rearcross worked tirelessly from the start of the second half to get back on level terms with Eamon Devitt and John Foley coming close to the target. Templemore went 3-1 in front midway through the half when the homside were caught on the break and the visitors got in to score from close range. Rearcross laid siege on the Templemore goal for the remainder of the game but had to wait until the 89th minute for the breakthrough when Eamon Devitt finished off a Declan O'Toole cross, however this was too little too late as Templemore held on to secure the points. Rearcross were somewhat unlucky not take something out of this game as they played well throughout, however Templemore were the better balanced team on the day and deserved their victory. Best for Rearcross were John Foley, Declan O'Toole and Simon Kennedy
