Rearcross U16's 4 - Killavilla 'B' 3

Rearcross U-16's toppled league champions Killavilla 'B' on a 4-3 scoreline in a league game played in Rearcross last Monday week, this was a reversal of the previous week's cup game result from which the Roscrea side advanced with a goal in the final minute of extra time. Both sides played fluent football from the start with chances created at both ends despite the heavy rain, however it was Killavilla who took the lead in the 31st minute with a well taken shot from outside the box. Rearcross rallied after this setback and were back in the game just before half time when John Berkery scored from the penalty spot. Declan O'Toole put Rearcross ahead in the 56th minute with a fine effort from outside the box. Colin O'Doherty increased the margin ten minutes later when he finished off a John Berkery cross. Killavilla retaliated with two successive goals with ten minutes remaining on the clock to level the affair, Rearcross kept battling and were rewarded when Simon Kennedy scored a dramatic winner in the 90th minute with a well struck shot to give Rearcross a deserved victory.
