Rearcross U-12's 3 - Arra Rovers 5

Rearcross U-12's suffered their first league defeat during Christmas against Arra Rovers on a 5-3 scoreline in a game played in Rearcross. Arra Rovers edged ahead in the 10th minute and went two nil in front three minutes later, James Gough pulled a goal back for Rearcross in the 20th minute when he broke through the Arra defence and finished well from close range. Arra Rovers extended their lead with a goal from the tip off following a defensive mix up. Rearcross tried hard to get back into the game and were rewarded in the 50th minute when Danny O'Brien scored following great work by Cormac Nolan. Rearcross pushed forward in search of the equaliser, however Arra broke against the run of play and restored their two goal advantage. Rearcross kept battling and reduced the deficit again when a splendid passing movement led to a nicely taken goal by Micheal O'Gorman. Arra Rovers were awarded a penalty with two minutes left on the stopwatch which was duly converted to give victory to the visiting team.
