Rearcross 'B' were on the wrong end of a 3-2 score line against neighbours
Kilcommon 'A' in this local derby clash played in Rearcross last Sunday evening,
the home side were without key players for this tie, nevertheless Rearcross
made a promising start and enjoyed their fair share of possession and went
one nil ahead after a great finish from Joey Nolan, Kilcommon drew level when
Shane Ryan was the marksman following poor defending from the home side. Kilcommon
took the lead five minutes before the break when Ger O'Toole got in to score
a well worked goal. Rearcross attacked from the off in the second half and
were back on par with a brave header from Val Kennedy, Rearcross went in search
of a winner in a fast flowing second half, however it was the visitors who
got the break on the day when Shane Ryan scored the all important goal with
a headed effort following a corner kick.
