Moneygall 'A' 2- Rearcross 'A' 4

Rearcross 'A' travelled to Barna last Sunday afternoon for a league encounter with Moneygall and came away with a hard earned victory on a 4-2 scoreline, Rearcross got off to an ideal start in the 3rd minute when Thomas Kennedy's well struck free kick finished in the back of the net, Moneygall stuck to their task well and Oliver Kennedy had to be quick off his line in the 23rd minute to deny Bertie Treacy, while seconds later Derek O'Toole broke through the centre, however the ball broke unkindly to thwart a second goal for Rearcross. Moneygall equalised in the 42nd minute when Bertie Treacy finished to the net from close range. Rearcross reacted immediately when a Martin McLoughlin header broke to Emmet Steed who scored a spectacular goal with an overhead kick that left the Moneygall keeper helpless. Moneygall came out in the second half with all guns blazing and signalled their intent early in the half when an effort from the left flank wasn't far off the the target. The home side's perseverance paid off in the 67th when the ball fell to Neil Quinlan who made no mistake from the edge of the six yard box. Rearcross were now chasing the game and were let off the hook in the 75th minute when Mike O'Dwyer's thirty yard effort thumped off the crossbar, Rearcross went ahead for the third time in the 82nd minute when a Thomas Kennedy free kick from the edge of the eighteen rebounded to Derek O'Toole who blasted to the net from close range. Rearcross went 4-2 in front in the 89th minute when Martin McLoughlin found space on the left flank and advanced to shoot to the corner of the net from twelve yards to clinch the victory.
