Rearcross 'B' made their exit from the Tipperary Cup in Islandbawn
last Sunday against Reserve Division paces setters Nenagh Town 'B' after a
penalty shootout, the opening half exchanges were evenly shared with both
sets of defences well on top, Derek Kennedy and Paudie Devitt came closest
for Rearcross while Simon Kennedy did well to palm a Nenagh effort on to the
crossbar midway through the half. The second half was much the same as the
first, Noel Deegan threatened for Rearcross late in the game, however the
shot was over the bar. Extra time failed to separate the sides and it was
the home side that proved more accurate in the penalty shootout and progressed
to the next round on a 3-2 scoreline, Thomas Kennedy & Myles Devitt were the
marksmen for Rearcross.
