Rearcross 'B' were at home to table toppers Nenagh Town 'B'
last Sunday morning and went under on a 3-1 score line, the sides were scoreless
at the half time whistle after Rearcross had enjoyed their fair share off
possession with Simon Kennedy also playing his part with a reflex save to
keep the score line intact. Nenagh took the lead shortly after the restart
when a long ball over the top caught Rearcross off guard and the visitors
took full advantage with a strike from close range. Rearcross were let off
the hook five minutes later when Simon Kennedy did well to save from the penalty
spot. Rearcross were well in the game after this and came close with efforts
from Eamon Devitt and Damien Ryan. Nenagh edged further ahead with fifteen
minutes remaining with a well worked goal. Rearcross were given a lifeline
with seven minutes remaining when Eamon Devitt was fouled in the box, Nigel
Ryan converted the resulting penalty, however it was too little too late and
Nenagh grabbled a late insurance goal to secure the win.
