Rearcross Youths picked up their second league win on a one
nil score line with a dogged performance against Borrisoleigh last Saturday
in Rearcross, the sides were still scoreless at the half way stage after some
staunch defending and able goal keeping from the home side, Rearcross were
the more dominant side at the start of the second half with Paul Hogan and
Danny O’Brien to the fore, Rearcross then came close when Colin O’Doherty’s
header from a Jamie Ryan cross wasn’t far off, Colin O’Doherty was again in
the action on 75 minutes with a lobbed effort that was inches away, Rearcross
grabbed a late winner with two minutes remaining when Colin O’Doherty reacted
to a Mark Hogan free kick and knocked to the net from eight yards to secure
the points.
