Sallypark 'A' 3 - Rearcross 'A' 0

‘You train well together, you play well together’ - Common Sense

Rearcross travelled to Sallypark last Sunday morning and came away empty handed after a rather insipid performance in somewhat ‘tropical’ conditions. With only eleven players at their disposal, two of them goalkeepers, this was always going to be a tough battle yet Rearcross got off to a good start and were producing a number of chances - Derek O’ Toole and Michael O’ Gorman unlucky when failing to finish in the first twenty minutes after being set up with decent crosses from the right. Sallypark began gaining the upper hand after this and finished to the net with a minute remaining in the first half with David Keogh on hand to strike home. The second half saw Rearcross battle, albeit incoherently, for the first few minutes until Sallypark doubled their lead in the 53rd minute through Paddy Ronan. This was followed by another goal in the 67th minute by David Keogh which well and truly put the game to rest. Rearcross can be disappointed at their showing and need big numbers at training for the coming weeks if they are to get their season back on track.
