Rearcross 'B' 2 - Shannon Rangers 'B' 5
For what was their first home game of the season, Rearcross B welcomed Shannon Rangers to their club grounds. The visitor’s journey was worthwhile as they collected all three points by winning in a 7 goal spectacle. Despite the high score the game for a long period was very competitive, with both teams creating chances at either end without success. All 7 goals came in the second half with Kieran Devitt cancelling out an opening goal to Shannon Rangers, scored by Andy Austin. Two quick goals by Shannon Rangers midway through the second half upended what was a dominant Rearcross spell. Two more opportunistic goals by the visitors and a neatly converted penalty by Kieran Devitt for Rearcross finished out what truly epitomises the notion, of a “game of two halves’. At the final whistle it was Rearcross B 2 - Shannon Rangers 5.
