Rearcross U-12's secured the points in their first home game of the season with a strong display against a Puckane side who were luckless on this occasion, this game was in the melting pot early on with the better chances falling to the visiting side who were unlucky not to have tacked on two early goals, Rearcross went ahead midway through the half when Niall O'Toole crossed to Donal Kennedy who finished to the net from just inside the box, William Mackey put Rearcross two nil in front shortly before the break when he arrived at the post to knock a Tommy Kennedy delivery from the left wing over the line, Puckane made a bright start to the second half and Matt Harty's effort was inches wide of the upright with four minutes played, Rearcross extended their lead in the 39th minute when Tommy Kennedy scored from the penalty spot despite the best efforts of Brian McGahey in the Puckane goal who got his finger tips to the ball, Tommy Kennedy was in the action again minutes later with a long range effort that finished in the net, changes were rang in at this stage with both sides introducing a range of subs, Rearcross added further scores with a brace from Tommy Kennedy and a fine effort from Niall O'Toole, it was proving not to be a good day at the office for the Puckane side and this was typified in the dying stages of the game when Brendan Shanahan was on hand to deny his opponents a consolation goal with a save from the penalty spot.
