Nenagh Town 'C' 0 - Rearcross U-14's 9

Rearcross U-14’s got their league off to a winning start with a comprehensive win over Nenagh “C” at Brickfields last Saturday. Donal Kennedy got Rearcross off to a flying start after 5 minutes, Colm Nolan being the provider. Donal Kennedy doubled his tally on the 10 minute mark with a strike from outside the box. In the 18th minute, Colm Nolan put the ball in the net after good work by Shane Fahey and Seán Hickey on the wing. Shane Lenihan then scored a fine individual goal in the 23rd minute. Colm Nolan added another one almost immediately, after good work by Donal Kennedy. Shane Lenihan then created two goals in the space of five minutes, scored by Colm Nolan and Seán Hickey respectively. In the second half Donal Kennedy completed his hat trick, while the Lenihans, Shane and Blane, scored some fine individual goals to cap off a good performance. Nenagh battled well throughout but it was not to be their day as the Rearcross defence, including Brendan Shanahan in goals, played well as a unit, while the younger players of the panel such as Donal Kennedy, Shane Fahey and James Deegan put in sterling displays.
