Clodiagh Rangers 4 - Rearcross U-14's 1
Rearcross U-14's travelled to Drombane last Saturday and came
away at the hands of a 4-1 defeat. Rearcross were the better team in the first
half and created many chances, however it was to no avail as the Rearcross
attack was thwarted by a strong Clodiagh defence. Clodiagh scored the first
goal of the game before half time and this gave them a platform to build on
for the second half. Rearcross battled bravely throughout the second half
and had a number of near misses. Rearcross also had claims for a penaly kick
turned down on one or two occasions which eventually caught up with them as
the game proceeded and Clodiagh pounced for another two goals to make it 3-0.
Shane Lenihan pulled a goal back for Rearcross, before slack defending allowed
Clodiagh in for a fourth with minutes remaining on the clock to round off
a hard earned victory for the Drombane side.
