Moneygall 1 - Rearcross U-10's 0

Rearcross travelled to play top of the table leaders Moneygall on Saturday morning in an effort to put an end to their unbeaten record. Adverse weather conditions played a huge factor on the game but Rearcross despite playing against a strong wind in the first half showed great promise particularly in the midfield area where Patrick Carey was in fine form.  Moneygall for their part applied plenty of pressure on the sturdy Rearcross defence and with 4 minutes left in the first half a Nial Maher strike from distance found the back of the Rearcross net giving Moneygall the advantage at half time. Adam Hurley replaced the injured Pat Carroll in goals and James Rochford was introduced up front for Rearcross in the second half. Rearcross made full advantage of the strong wind after the break and started to create some great chances to level matters. Both Aaron McMahon and Patrick Carey were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Moneygall tried hard to grab a second goal but Paul Ryan and Dylan Ryan in the Rearcross defence showed great resilience and so the game ended with Moneygall claiming maximum points. Great credit must go to Rearcross who under terrible weather conditions played from start to finish with great determination and can certainly count themselves unlucky not to get a result.

Rearcross Panel:  Pat Carroll, Paul Ryan, Dylan Ryan, Conor Nolan, Patrick Carey, Adam Hurley, Aaron McMahon, James Rochford, Martin Carey, Aoife Nolan.
