A weakened Rearcross team travelled to Portroe on Saturday morning for a league meeting against Arra. Both sides started well with great determination however it was the Arra side who first registered a score after 11 minutes. Arra added a second 4 minutes later as the difference in physical strength between both sides began to show. Seconds before the break however a great passing movement between Conor Nolan and Aaron McMahon gave James Rochford a chance to get one back however his brilliant strike blazed over the Arra crossbar. The Arra side added a thrid early in the second half to seal the victory. Rearcross continued to battle hard and were eventually rewarded when Patrick Carey struck to the roof of the Arra net 6 minutes from time in what proved to be a consolation.
