Rearcross U-10's 3 - Nenagh Celtic 2

Rearcross started their league campaign with a deserved victory over their visitors Nenagh Celtic at the Rearcross Grounds last Saturday morning.

Both sides started well but it was Rearcross who began to threaten the Nenagh Celtic goalmouth midway through the first half. Rearcross were eventually awarded when Conor Nolan displayed a coolness in front of the goal to claim the first score. Nenagh Celtic did not falter due to their setback and were back level within minutes of the half time whistle. The second half started brightly for Nenagh Celtic who now fancied their chances of a result from the game.

Celtic claimed their second goal 4 minutes into the second half when the Rearcross defence were stretched leaving Celtic ample opportunity to find the net.

Rearcross responded well however and an Aaron McMahon goal minutes later put the sides back on level terms.Rearcross at this stage fought hard to take the lead and Adam Hurley was removed from his goalkeeping duties to play up front in an effort to find a winner. Nenagh Celtic could consider themselves unlucky with 5 minutes left in the game when a fantastic effort skimmed the top of the Rearcross goalmoth. With two minutes left in the game Adam Hurley took posession of the ball and made towards the Celtic goalmouth eventually finishing off with a confident strike to put the home side ahead and to claim victory on the full time whistle.
