Rearcross played their second league game at home last Saturday morning where they faced the travelling Lough Derg side. This game was a hard fought encounter from the start and both teams struggled to create chances in front of goal due to fine defensive displays from either side. The second half saw Rearcross begin to play with more dominance over the visitors but clear chances in front of the Lough Derg goalmouth remained elusive. It was only in the dying minutes of the game that Rearcross can count themselves unfortunate not to record a score when Adam Hurley hit the Lough Derg post from a fine strike and seconds later Conor Nolan worked his way through the Lough Derg defense with an impressive solo run only to be brought down outside the box. The resulting free did not provide the score that Rearcross so badly wanted and the game ended with both sides sharing the spoils.
