As the score-line suggests Rearcross experienced a difficult start to this seasons league campaign when they played host to the visiting Ardcroney side last Saturday morning at the Rearcross FC grounds. The game started off at a quick pace with both sides challenging for every ball however Ardcroney adjusted to the game early and their first score came on the 10 minute mark compliments of Oisin Royceton. Within minutes Ardcroney had registered their second goal with a fine strike from Matthew Harty. Rearcross started to settle down midway through the first half and were rewarded their only goal of the game when a long clearance from defence found Dale Lovelock who did well to control the ball and beat the Ardcroney keeper from close range. Hopes of a Rearcross comeback were short lived however when Ardconey scored from a long range free kick by  Matthew Harty which found the back of the Rearcross net just before the break.

 The second half became a one sided affair as Ardcroney began to enjoy most of the possession as the goals came easily for the visitors. Two goals each from David Williams and Jamie Heffernan one of which was a penalty, and a goal each from Shane Dooley and Conor Duggan ended the game.
