Last Saturday morning saw plenty of goals scored by Rearcross when they played host to an understrength Birdhill in their first league meeting of the season. The 3^rd minute of the game saw James Rochford open the scoring following good work from Adam Hurley and Conor Nolan. Three minutes later Aaron McMahon scored the second goal from close range for Rearcross while Philip Deegan made it 3-0 midway through the first half. A fine strike from Conor Nolan found the net in the 13^th minute making it 4-0 to the home side. Adam Hurley added a fifth minutes later and just before the break a long pass from Pat O’Toole found James Rochford who did well to score his second goal in the game. The second half saw a simillar pattern to the game and further goals were added by Adam Hurley for his second, two more from Aaron McMahon to complete his hat trick, a superb strike from Pat O’Toole to find the net while late in the game Philip Deegan scored his second goal of the day. This was a very promising performance from Rearcross most notably the quality of passing produced by Adam Hurley and Conor Nolan in the middle of the field.
