Rearcross travelled to Portroe on Saturday morning to take on Arra Rovers. The game saw goalmouth action early in the 2^nd minute when Ciaran Pateman scored from close range for the home side. This early setback did not deter the Rearcross side from fighting back and two minutes later a great passing movement from Adam Hurley to Conor Nolan who set up Philip Deegan to level matters. There was no doubht to those who witnessed the play which lead to this goal were truly impressed by the quality of passing involved. An interception from Philip Deegan following an Arra kick out set up Conor Nolan to score a second Rearcross goal in the 12^th minute of the game.

A luckless Arra side were dealt a further blow 5 minutes into the second half when they scored an own goal and minutes later Philip Deegan scored his second of the day for Rearcross from close range following a great pass from Adam Hurley. Despite the scoreline Rearcross did not have it all their own way and Arra continued to apply the pressure to reduce the deficit and with 12 minutes into the second half Ronan Tucker scored Arra’s 2^nd of the day.

Rearcross were determined not to let the lead slip any further and a goal from Sam Wilkins following good individual work in the 14^th minute of the second half helped to maintain the gap between the sides. Arra’s never say die attitude was evident even late in the game and the defecit was reduced again to 2 goals with minutes remaining. However it was Rearcross who were to hold out for victory and even the last kick of the game found the Arra net when Sam Wilkins scored his second of the day.
