Nenagh AFC 'B' 1 - Rearcross U-13's 0

Rearcross U-13s made the trip to Brickfields last Saturday morning to play Nenagh B in their last league match of the 09/10 season. However, they returned home empty handed after a disappointing 1 – 0 defeat. The visitors started off sluggishly and Nenagh dominated the territory despite not threatening the Rearcross goal. Rearcross grew into the game and were well on top for the remainder of the game. Their best chance came 10 minutes before the break when a Gary O’Brien header struck the post before being cleared to safety. They followed this up with a Patrick Carey shot however the Nenagh keeper was well positioned to make the save.

Rearcross continued to dominate into the second half and Nenagh were on the back foot throughout. However, completely against the run of play, the hosts grabbed the opening goal midway through the half. A quick counter attack caught the Rearcross defence plat footed and Nenagh cut through with ease before finding the net with a shot from 10 yards out. Rearcross threw everything they had at Nenagh in search of an equaliser. However, it was just one of those days where the ball wouldn’t go in the net. A Darragh Kennedy shot was just over the bar. They followed this up with an effort from Thomas Lyons which was somehow saved despite the keeper not knowing anything about it. In the end time ran out for the visitors and  they return home frustrated.
