Shinrone 0 - Rearcross U-11's 2

Rearcross travelled the long journey to Shinrone for their second league game of the season.  The first real chance of the game came midway through the first half when Adam Hurley hit a strong shot form 15 metres out which took a slight deflection, giving the Shinrone keeper no chance. Few clear-cut chances were created by either side for the remainder of the first half and Rearcross held their 1 goal lead at half time.

The second half started with the home team applying the pressure in an effort to get back into the game.  Despite their best efforts, Rearcross held firm, especially Trudie Hurley at the back and Pat Carroll in goal.  Midway through the second half Rearcross produced their best passing movement of the game when Aoife Nolan played a short pass to Adam Hurley at the near post, who laid off a neat pass to the in-rushing Conor Nolan who made no mistake from 10 metres out. As the pitch began to deteriorate due to heavy rain, good football became impossible for both teams in the last 15 minutes, and the game ended 2 nil to the travelling team.
