Rearcross set out early on Saturday morning to make the Journey to Newtown where they met Arra Rovers. The home side enjoyed the best possible start when straight from the kick off they moved the ball down the right wing for the Arra midfielder to produce a great strike which found the top of the Rearcross net. The 7^th minute of the game saw Adam Hurley break through the Arra defence only for his effort to go wide of the goalmouth. A counter attack midway in the first half by Arra left the Rearcross defence exposed and unfortunately Pat Carroll could do little to prevent the home side scoring their second goal of the game. Two minutes later Arra benifited from some good work down the right wing and a fine strike from the Arra striker made it 3-0 to the home side. The second half saw little improvement for the visitors and it was Arra who further increased the gap on 34 minutes making it 4-0. Rearcross enjoyed what was to be a consulation goal on the 38^th minute when Adam Hurley scored from close range however it wasn’t enough to worry the home side and with minutes remaining in the game Arra rovers scored their final goal in what was a comprehensive victory for them.
