Rearcross U-14's 2 - Adare United 3

Rearcross u14s played host to Adare FC in a highly entertaining friendly last Sunday morning in Rearcross.  The visitors took an early lead when a well worked move down the left wing resulted with a pinpoint cross into the path of the inrushing striker to put the Limerick side ahead. They doubled their lead 10 minutes later with a carbon copy move, this time finishing with a header to the top corner. Rearcross almost conceded a third except for an excellent save from Darragh Ryan kept the visitors out. To their credit, Rearcross upped their game after going behind and pulled a goal back after a corner broke to Shane Quigley in the box and the Barnadomeeny midfielder blasted the ball to the roof of the net. They were denied an equaliser moments later when a Patrick Deegan shot rebounded off the post and away to safety. They went into the break all square when a cross from the right wing fall to Darragh Murphy and his shot from the corner of the box found the back of the net.

The fine flowing football continued throughout second half with both sides going for the win. Adare went ahead once more midwat through the half when Rearcross struggled to clear the ball before the Adare striker rounded off his hat trick with a shot from outside the area. It was end to end stuff after this with Brian Carey prominent in defence and Patrick Deegan as playmaker in midfield. However, despite creating a number of half chances, they could not break down a resolute Adare defence and the visitors hung on for the victory.
