Nenagh Celtic travelled to the Rearcross grounds yesterday evening. Both sides were not in contention for league honours this season but that did not detract from the competitive edge to this game. Rearcross had the brightest of starts when just after 4 minutes Colm Carey did well to link up with Adam Hurley who subsequently laid off the perfect pass to Philip Deegan making no mistake in finding the back of the Celtic net. Rearcross were encouraged by the early goal and continued to dominate in the midfield area however few more chances were created in the first half. Nenagh Celtic began to take control of the game towards the later end of the first half and were eventually rewarded when Adam Morrissey's fine strike from distance found the Rearcross net.

The second half was keenly fought by both sides however it was Rearcross who took the advantage early in the half when Sam Wilkins did well to round the Celtic goalkeeper and cooly slotted the ball home. Celtic did not take long to recover and a long ball from their goalkeeper caught the Rearcross defence by surprise and Denis Bistron hammered the ball to the net in the 15^th  minute leaving the sides level for the second time in the game. Nenagh Celtic  grew more confident in the lattter stages of the game and were considered unlucky when a long range strike skimmed off the cross bar. Depsite great efforts from Pat O’Toole in midfield and Sam Wilkins up front Rearcross failed to find the all important winner and just when it seemed like points would be shared between the sides Nenagh Celtic found the net for the 3^rd time on the night with 3 minutes remaining through Adam Morrissey and thus taking the honours.
